Stories from the 4th

July 6th, 2008
I was talking with one of the leaders from McGregor Baptist (the group from Fort Myers, FL) and she was telling me about a little girl that came over to the kids area to get her face painted.  She said it was obvious she was a child of one of the Hare Krishnas.  As she was waiting to get her face painted, she was given one of the bracelets.  When the child’s father came over, she went over to him smiling and showed him her bracelet.  She then pointed to the bracelet and said “Look Dad, I got to Jesus!”  The dad was not happy at all and then told the leaders to take the bracelet off of his daughter and they left.  She didn’t even get her face painted.  But she did get to Jesus.  I just pray that she will have someone in her life that can be a Christian influence.

More Outreach before the 4th

July 1st, 2008

On June 29th, Bob and Tom, from the FreedomFest DC Outreach Team, went back to the Mall and set the tent up for just a couple of hours in the middle of the day. They talked to people from China, Philippines, Pakistan, Australia and all over America. In all they were able to speak to about 60 people and 20 of them asked Jesus into their hearts. A bitter sweet testimony was when a Pakistani woman brought her 2 teenage daughters into the booth. They were in America on a one month vacation. The mother and the youngest daughter were very receptive but the older daughter (looked to be about 17 or 18) was not very happy that her mom brought her into our tent to hear about Jesus. As Tom was going through the gospel, the daughter kept talking to her mother in an agitated voice. But the mom only wanted to hear about Jesus. As Tom finished with the gospel and asked them if they would trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior the mom and the youngest daughter bowed their heads and prayed to accept Christ. I am not sure what they have waiting for them in Pakistan when they return home but I have the feeling the mother sought us out specifically to make a stand for Jesus.

Sharing Christ on the Mall before the 4th

June 29th, 2008

On Saturday, June 28th, Bob (an outreach leader on the FreedomFest DC Team) took about 9 teens to the Mall to do outreach. During the day they talked to about 300 people from around the world. One group really stands out. Four Hindus from India (2 actually living in India visiting relatives – the other 2 - here in America) came into our tent to hear the gospel and asked Jesus to be their Savior before they left. Five of the nine teens had never led anyone to Christ. By the end of the day each of them had led at least 4 people to the Lord.

It’s a big step of faith

June 26th, 2008

Doing FreedomFest DC is a step of faith each year. We depend on the donations and contributions of our friends, churches, ministries and businesses each year.   We’re grateful to God that we always met our budget each year for the last 22 years.

Please prayerfully consider donating this year to help us meet our costs. All funds go toward the costs of FreedomFest DC. Costs include things like tents and staging rental, the generator rental, set up equipment, sound production, Bibles, literature and banners and signs.

You may send donations to:
