2009 FREEDOMFEST|DC BANDS, SINGERS AND MUSICIANS

Check back the week of June 29th for a final band schedule for the day.

A special worship time begins at 12:00 noon at the main stage. The event and main bands begin at 1:00 pm and continue right up to 8:45 pm. The fireworks begin at 9:10 pm.

12:00 noon ~ FreedomFest|DC Worship Band

* You’re invited to a special worship and prayer time for all of the volunteers and anyone who wants to come before we kick off the event at 1:00 pm. We’ll be gathering at the main stage area.

12:40 pm ~ The main stage music program begins with Northbound, a local band from Montgomery County, MD.

Bands, singers and musicians from the DC Metro area will be on the main stage all day long from 1:00 pm – 8:45 pm.

We just want to thank WAVA again for all of their partnering over the years.  They have been partnering with FreedomFest|DC and Christ On the Mall for over 12 years now.  This year Danielle will be the WAVA Emcee from the main stage.  Stop by the WAVA tent on site near the main stage this year and pick up some free stuff.   Thanks WAVA!

This year, more churches and ministries are getting involved in FreedomFest|DC.  Our hope, desire and prayer is that more and more like-minded churches and ministries would catch the vision of serving together to reach out to people in the Mall every 4th — and throughout the year.  Watch for a special announcement after 7/4/09 about some new ministry plans as grow and get ready for our 25th anniversary in 2010.

Just as a reminder, our final Evangelism Training is on Thursday, July 2nd at 7:00 pm at Washington Bible College, 6511 Princess Garden Parkway (main lounge area).

SETTING UP THE SITE

~ July 3rd:  From 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, we will be setting up tents, staging and the sound system.  Pray for good weather!

VOLUNTEERS ON THE 4TH

~ July 4th:  We’re asking the first shift volunteers to be on site at 10:00 am.  There will be a special worship time for volunteers at 12:00 noon at the main stage.

The outreach program begins right after the prayer time and continues to 8:45 pm. The festival will take place between the Air & Space Museum and The National Gallery of Art, bordering 4th St. and 7th St., NW – on the middle grass area.

Some FreedomFestDC Outreach Team members have been down on the Mall this week connecting with people and sharing the gospel too.   The Smithsonian Folk Festival is a great place to go and just strike up spiritual conversations with people.  I find that many people are really seeking for something more —  I love what Jesus said in John 10:10 – “I came so they can have real and eternal life – more and better life than they ever dreamed of …”
