Linking churches and ministries together for outreach every July 4th on the National Mall
On June 29th, Bob and Tom, from the FreedomFest DC Outreach Team, went back to the Mall and set the tent up for just a couple of hours in the middle of the day. They talked to people from China, Philippines, Pakistan, Australia and all over America. In all they were able to speak to about 60 people and 20 of them asked Jesus into their hearts. A bitter sweet testimony was when a Pakistani woman brought her 2 teenage daughters into the booth. They were in America on a one month vacation. The mother and the youngest daughter were very receptive but the older daughter (looked to be about 17 or 18) was not very happy that her mom brought her into our tent to hear about Jesus. As Tom was going through the gospel, the daughter kept talking to her mother in an agitated voice. But the mom only wanted to hear about Jesus. As Tom finished with the gospel and asked them if they would trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior the mom and the youngest daughter bowed their heads and prayed to accept Christ. I am not sure what they have waiting for them in Pakistan when they return home but I have the feeling the mother sought us out specifically to make a stand for Jesus.
