Wow … our 22nd year!  It’s been an awesome year of preparation, prayer and just experiencing God’s provision as we get ready for July 4th.  We had a great worship and prayer service last Saturday at Kensington Baptist Church in Kensington, MD.  The worship was led by a group from Church of the Redeemer.

Just about everything is in place and all set.  If you’re coming down to volunteer, try to get there for the 12:15 pm worship and prayer time at the main stage area.  Last year we started the day with a circle of prayer with about 200 volunteers.  We want to do it again and just give the day to the Lord.  See you there!

We will be meeting on our site on the Mall from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Saturday, 6/30/06 for a Prayer Walk.  Here are just a few things that we will pray for as we walk the area.

1. For God’s Spirit to move all over this area on the 4^th and draw people to Himself.
2. For every follower of Jesus on this area on the 4^th to be in tune with God’s Spirit and willingly submit to Him.
3. For people that walk on this area to experience something different. That difference is the love of Christ for them as displayed through every believer here.

Join others from around the area for the annual Christ On the Mall Prayer Walk on our site on Saturday, July 1st from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm.  We will meet on the middle grass panel area right on the Mall – in front of the Air & Space Museum.  We will spend some time worshiping on the Mall and then walk as a group and use a Prayer Sheet as a guide for things to pray for as we walk part of the Mall area.

We’re so thankful to WAVA FM 105.1 for partnering with us each year to touch lives with Christ’s love on the 4th … and beyond.  Our Coordinating Team just had an interview on the Don Kroah Show to share about the outreach and ask Christians in our area to come down and serve together. This year, we sense more of a diversity of churches and people involved.

We celebrate what God has done in and through so many Christians over the years to reach out on the Mall!  This year, some new churches are helping out.  We’re anticipating another great time on the 4th.
